About The Village
It started out in the late 1800’s as a place for city dwellers a number of whom built small cottages in
which they could spend time enjoying the cool ocean breezes and spend time swimming and playing in the sand.
Casual sophistication best describes today’s Village area of La Jolla, with its’ many shops, galleries, restaurants
and outdoor cafes, all of which are walkable. There is a large, ocean-front park where concerts are held in the
summer. The climate, the look and the atmosphere are very Mediterranean.
There are cottage, contemporary and Mediterranean style homes as well as condominiums and apartments, some of which have ocean views.
